The Revell HO Index

Introducing the Revell HO Index
A Catalog Reference with Photos and Commentary

Developing the Website

Several years ago I started the Gilbert American Flyer HO Index that grew from mostly a catalog reference to a major source of information on that line of HO trains.  I am hoping that the same thing can happen here with help from other collectors of Revell HO.  My interest in Revell HO goes back to my earliest forays into HO in the late 1950's and early 1960's.  At that time Gilbert HO was priced a bit higher than my budget at that time, but I could afford Revell, especially the extremely well detailed plastic buildings.  My interest was further stoked by the fact that my favorite plan for an HO layout that appeared in Boys Life magazine was so full of Revell products that it looked like a product placement bought and paid for by Revell.  We will probably never know the story behind that.

Revell HO Catalogs as a Source

Like the Gilbert HO Index, my basic source is the available catalogs, but that is only the starting point as I hope I will be able, with your help, to add additional information.  As with the Gilbert HO index, I am not setting out to make a price guide, even though I am not aware of any available for Revell.   That is simply beyond what I am able to do.   For that, I suggest you check EBay and see what these specific items are selling for.   The main goal is to present as much detailed information as I can about the various Revell items in an easily accessible and orderly form.
