With some
exceptions, Revell train sets did not
include a power pack, as was typical of most HO train sets. Revell's power pack choices, however,
provided just the minimum power. Note that the 800 "Plus" Power
Station," which was introduced at the beginning of the Revell HO
line in 1956, is only rated at .8 amps. It is stated to be "powerful
enough to run any diesel set." Perhaps that is a subtle way of
pointing out that it wasn't sufficient for the 0-6-0 steam locomotive,
which included a smoke generator which would draw additional current.
This is interesting since it was the only Revell power pack available until the larger
1 amp T6060 was introduced in 1958.
Maybe they learned of the T6050's limitations the hard way.
Note that the power output is stated in milliamps, which makes them
sound more powerful. |
